Workshops

Ultima Vez regularly organises workshops and masterclasses in its studio in Brussels and in collaboration with partner organisations around the world. They are designed for a wide range of participants, from professional dancers and artists to (dance) students, amateurs, youngsters and children.

Wim Vandekeybus/Ultima Vez

During the Ultima Vez workshops and masterclasses Wim Vandekeybus, current and former dancers and artistic collaborators of the company share elements from the repertory, creative processes, methodology and techniques. In the dance repertory workshops, participants experience the company's distinctive approach to movement, creation and performance – an artistic practice in which intense physicality, intuition and theatricality are inseparable.

The sound and music composition workshops offer an in-depth immersion into the creation of a sonic universe for performance or film, from the first ideas to the final result. Stage design workshops reveal how lighting and scenography can support the choreography and theatrical storytelling. In his film and video masterclasses Wim Vandekeybus shares insights into both his fiction filmmaking practice and his cinematographic approach to dance.

Associated Artists

Ultima Vez's Associated Artists each bring a distinctive choreographic language and artistic practice. Through their workshops, they invite participants to engage with their individual approaches to movement, creation and performance.
